I currently have a group of well-rounded, diverse, and inquisitive students. I could not have hand-picked a better class when it comes to eagerness to learn. They are observant and interested in every spectrum of education.
Our community has very few activities for children.
What they do at school forms most of their experiences, as many have not and will not venture from this town until they are adults. I put fun into all activities and hope they continue to see the fun in learning in their future years.
My Project
After one semester of 5th grade, you would be amazed at the amount of markers and color pencils that 60 students can use up. Their projects are colorful, their assignments POP, and they are thankful to be able to use multiple utensils to write with.
Adding color to their creations is helpful in regards to information retention.
In class we write doodle notes, create makerspace projects, and engage in STEAM activities. All of this requires COLOR. Using multi-color expo markers on white boards helps organize notes. Crayola color pencils are very popular for doodle notes and require a hand sharpener as the electric one eats them up. Crayola markers make STEAM projects bold with color, and Ticonderoga pencils are the only pencils we use.
