This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school attempting to support the whole child in academics, social, and physical areas. We strive to give our students exposure to community jobs, roles, and real-life experiences. Our school community strives to meet all learners through a variety of engaging experiences and through hands-on learning.
My students range from a variety of needs, from communication to sensory.
They deserve access to materials that assist them in practicing skills and allows them to engage in developmentally appropriate ways in the classroom, as well as the community.
My Project
The clip boards, paper, and storage bins will help my students easily access writing materials in all areas of the classroom. The clip boards will allow them to engage in writing even if a table is not available, allow them to take orders at a restaurant, and document their findings and observations in the science center. The bins will assist them with finding and returning materials throughout the day. The white boards and markers will allow my students to choose through a variety of sensory preferences what items to choose to write with.
My students are learning how to use writing for a variety of purposes and the paper, bins, and clip boards will encourage generalization of skills in a variety of settings and for a variety of purposes.
