My Students

I teach kindergarten in a suburban elementary school which serves multiple neighborhood areas and a large, local military base. Students therefore come to our school and my classroom from a very diverse mix of socioeconomic and multicultural backgrounds.

Additionally, my students have varied levels of developmental abilities, including both special needs and gifted students.

Some of these students come to me knowing little to no sight words, letters, or sound recognition. These skills are the foundation every good readers needs to start with.

My Project

White boards are messy and the markers dry out very fast! Electronic boards won't leave ink residue on the students and the desk. The electronic boards will allow students to practice daily skills we learn in kindergarten. These boards can be used anywhere and anytime. Students can get them out and start writing on them without little to no downtime. Students will write the letters we are learning as well as the sight words we learn each week. The boards will be used in math lessons to practice writing, adding, and subtracting numbers. The more students practice these skills the better readers and mathematicians they will become!
