I teach 22 curious kindergarten students who are learning to follow procedures, and classroom routines. Some have never attended school before. Some of my students have never held a pencil or scissors until they entered my classroom. They are learning new information each day, while discovering how to be kind to one another.
My students are special because they have unique talents which they bring to the classroom each day.
Some enjoy drawing pictures to express their thinking, while some attempt to stretch out words so their thoughts can be read. Through my students various learning styles, and abilities we are building a classroom
I chose to use Boogie Board writers because the few I have in my classroom are constantly in high demand. The students are able to use them in small groups to stretch out their words, draw pictures and practice with forming letters and numbers.
The colorful boogie boards are exciting for my kindergarten students who struggle with fine motor skills.
They will be able to soon write stories and also practice skills such as writing sight words, and practicing modeling their math thinking.
Through the use of boogie boards in my classroom, students with all abilities can express their thinking in all academic areas.
