Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of active, fun loving, diverse kindergarteners! Most of them come from low-income families but that doesn't stop them from being excited and being eager to learn. We love hands-on activities where we can learn by doing.
The minds of my students crave knowledge, they want to know everything they can, and I want to give it to them.
We learn all topics in my classroom ranging from math to health to social skills. I am blessed to have the opportunity to impact such a wonderful group of young students. My kindergarten students come into school with a wide variety of skills, some not having preschool and some already knowing their letters and sounds. I believe it is imperative that they begin to learn and grow through hands on activities.
My Project
These materials will help my students meet our school goal of boosting our writing scores! By using these materials, my students will have the opportunity to make writing fun by using different types of paper and writing utensils.
Developing a passion and appreciation for writing begins in kindergarten.
We are looking forward to using these materials during both whole and small group instruction. Because our classroom lacks basic materials such as dry erase boards and chart paper, it is sometimes difficult to learn about and practice writing. Writing is used in every subject so these materials will be utilized all throughout the day.
