Writing on the Surf

My Students

My students are from a rural community in north central Iowa. They are a diverse group of boys and girls with many different backgrounds. They are always ready to put in their best effort and support each other as they grow academically and socially together as a class.

My students are an energetic, inquisitive group of third graders.

They are creators, mathematicians, writers, readers, and thinkers. We work hard each and every day to grow and become our best selves.

My Project

Having this set of Surf Desks in our classroom will allow my students the ability to move away from their desks and write while sitting on the floor with their legs stretched out, but not laying down! I have a class of students who love to write, but laying down to write becomes so tempting for them.

Having these ten Surf Desks will allow almost half of my class to move around the room and truly reach for their best potential and focus!

These Desks will also work great with our ChromeBooks. They need to be a flat surface and this will allow students to again work in a place that is not their desk. They will also be a great option for flexible seating in our room in any subject area as well.
