Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten's students come with a wide range of academic needs. The majority of my students are significantly below grade level and they come from low socioeconomic families. This is why it is hard to have all the necessary materials used in the classroom. In order to expose them to different places and experiences outside the walls of the classroom, the materials needed are important.
Our school wants to improve the life of our students by giving them the necessary tools to be successful and stay at school.
They need to learn about the writing process and experiment with it. For this reason, we are in need of journals.
My Project
I work in a Title I school and the parents have trouble purchasing school supplies. As a teacher, I spend a lot of my paycheck buying school supplies and materials for my classroom. Sometimes, it is really hard for me to stop buying needed materials for my classroom and cover my household expenses at the same time. Notebooks, pencils and journals are used every day during our lessons, experiments and writing center. We are currently out of these school supplies, and we are asking these donations to finish our year in a strong position. Everything can help to make learning awesome and give them the opportunity to be successful. Thank you so much!
