My Students

We have an amazing group of 3rd graders this year here in Las Vegas! My students are motivated to have an impact on the world and they are hungry to be at the top. But at the moment, they are well behind the starting line in terms of having the resources and tools to make that a reality. 100 percent of my students eat free breakfast and lunch every day at school because they live in a high poverty neighborhood.

This rich and diverse group includes students across the cultural and linguistic spectrum that are perfectly capable of being some of the very best with the right tools.

They think deeply and have a passion for helping others. Life is not always easy for them, but in the classroom, they stay safe and confident.

My Project

My class works a lot in small centers, and the students enjoy the freedom to move the location of these centers. An easel would provide us with that flexibility and I would be able to quickly flip to important charts that they need to produce excellent projects.

The easel would provide a means to keep the students anchored and help give them the confidence and capability to produce excellent prose.

Not only this but while we do presentations at the board, I can flip to charts that the students and I have made together to review key concepts in all of our third grade subjects. Young students are such visual and kinesthetic learners, and our third grade class would be greatly enhanced by an easel.
