Our urban school is made up of students from many different backgrounds but every child in my classroom loves learning! Incorporated in our class is a variety of learning strategies to ensure each student’s needs are met.
We focus on group and partner work to encourage social skills such as cooperation, peer engagement, and collaboration.
My students are inquisitive, energetic, and enthusiastic about learning! They love being creative through imagining out-of-this-world scenarios, make-believe magical lands, and science fiction action. A major goal of my class is to foster student's imagination.
Students are encouraged to investigate the world around them for inspiration through group projects, research, and exploration.
My Project
Students need the opportunity to get up and move in a classroom and students in my class do not sit at desks for long periods of time. To make these transitions more appealing and comfortable it is necessary for students to have inviting areas to rotate to. Having flexible seating for centers will improve the quality of student work during our rotations because students can work more comfortably sitting on a Calming Colors Soft Seat or a Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seat.
The donations to this project will help my students work more comfortably and provide them with the supplies we need for more flexible and engaging writing centers.
Students will love using the Rory Story Cubes as writing prompts for collaborative story writing during centers. Dry Erase Pockets and the Trade Quest Letter Size Clipboards will allow students to write in multiple locations around the room and on walking field trips or school scavenger hunts. With your generosity students can work and study with mobility instead of being limited to desk work.
