Teaching at a Title 1 school means that many of my students come from low-income families with over 75% of them receiving free or reduced lunch. These students face challenges in and outside of the classroom that can impact their learning and achievement.
However, even with these challenges, my students are eager to learn new material and be successful.
Students will be offered a structured learning environment which will allow them to soar. With structure, students learn to challenge themselves and others in a constructive manner. It is my goal to give my second graders the chance to be in control of their learning and be proud of their accomplishments. I know with these two things we will see pride within all students.
My Project
Students deserve to be proud of their writing. We are in need of supplies that will guide them through an efficient writing process. This starts with manuscript handwriting paper. Students can learn how to form their letters neatly with the guidance of the lines provided on handwriting paper.
Pencils are a necessity in the classroom and are usually the first item to dwindle.
Students won't have the added stress of worrying about where their next pencil will come from with your help. The addition of a second pencil sharpener to our class will allow students to have pencils as sharp as their writing. We also know everyone makes mistakes and we need erasers to help with those.
Students can use pens to color-code the steps of the writing process. Students will more easily differentiate between their rough drafts, edits and final copies. With the help of pencil pouches, students can keep all their writing supplies organized with a low risk of misplacing them.
The tabletop organizers will allow me to easily keep all writing supplies organized for was student access.
