Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a fourth grade teacher teaching in an urban community. My students come to school without pencils, paper, and other materials needed to be successful in school. This is a high-needs community where gangs prevail.

Because students do not have the necessary supplies to complete assignments, students often find themselves without hope. I have recently connected with dry erase boards. This simple tool has made my students come alive. Once these students each have one with the tools to use them, they will be able to answer questions in a contest manner.

I am asking for 40 dry erase boards, 1 for each student and extra just in case. I am also asking for the markers as well as folders to put their work in so they can display it to their parents and have a self-confidence knowing how much they have completed.
