My students need new writing resources - prompt cards, fiction and nonfiction sequence and write tiles, and writing activity pockets!

My Students

We are looking for the "write" stuff to improve our writing skills. Writing is such an important part of our day. We want to have fun while becoming the best writers we can be!

I am an Intervention teacher at a low-income school.

Over 87% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. The students are very sweet and aim to please. However, many students do not have support at home due to a variety of circumstances. As a teacher at this wonderful school, I want to make the most of my time with my students and inspire them to become better writers. I will be working with grades Pre-K- 2nd grade this upcoming school year. I want to help the students and my fellow teachers inspire creativity and a love of writing.

My Project

The writing resources will not only serve the students I pull, but also the grade level teachers. These resources will be used in over 20 classrooms. I am asking for writing activity pockets, a writing prompt box, and fiction and nonfiction writing tiles. The writing activity pockets will help students select a prompt and an idea card…then write about amazing animals, a variety of sports, incredible machines and more. The fiction and nonfiction story tiles will be used by students to sequence the picture tiles then use the pictures to help them write a passage with a clear beginning, middle and end. The prompt box has over 100 prompt cards that cover narrative, informative/explanatory and opinion/argument writing—perfect for independent use, small groups and writing centers.

All of the resources being requested will help countless students in grades Kindergarten through second grade.

These resources can be differentiated to fit every students learning level and adapted to their abilities. These resources would be a huge help in improving our writing skills and making learning fun and enjoyable for all of my intervention students. Thank you in advance for inspiring future writers!
