Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Learning from home is challenging for students and families with little to no resources at home to keep kindergarten engaged. My families are in need of basic supplies for hands-on learning activities that they can do together as a family or students can do independently.
My Project
During this difficult time, my wish is to make distance learning a little better for my students and families. My project includes things my kindergarteners could use at home during distance learning that will allow them to use their creativity, stay engaged and keep learning.
Each of them will get a set of materials that will allow them to continue to develop their fine motor skills, practice their early literacy and math skills while allowing them to stay creative and excited during distance learning.
Each set will include a coloring book and set of crayons, colorful construction paper, play-doh, dry-erase board with markers and an eraser.
My goal is for my students to use the whiteboards during our distance learning activities and take pictures or videos and upload them to our SeeSaw App. Students will be able to share their construction paper, coloring pages and even their play-doh creations through a digital show and tell celebration.
