Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. They deserve every opportunities that is available to them.
They are unique and that's what make them special.
My students are bilingual and some of the families were impacted by Harvey. Some of them lost everything and had to start all over.

My students need to be exposed to writing in a variety of ways.
My Project
The Space-Saver writing center will be used daily for my scholars. I am excited to see their expression of their face when we get the writing center.
Writing is important because it's communication.
We can communicate with others when they're not where you are or at a different time than you are. In other words, writing is communication over time and space. Kind of magical isn't it.
Writing starts with holding the pencil correctly. Children learn the importance of communication. It's an extraordinary experience seeing the scholars writing progress toward the year. At the beginning it starts with beginning letters of words. I just enjoyed hearing them read their writing and enjoy seeing their expression in their face when they are reading. It's unique because its special to them.
