Help me give my students an assortment of project-based writing with necessary tools and engaging in creative writing design with center activities including a printing center. Students are excited to have a take-home bag for remote learning.
My school is in a rural, high poverty area in the York, SC. I teach 5th grade in a low-income area in which most students in my school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students all have unique learning needs and disabilities, including ESOL, speech and hearing, and academic support for specific learning disabilities. Most students receive free or reduced lunch and some receive backpack food on the weekends. My students face many challenges in and outside the classroom, especially during this Covid time.
My students enjoy creative projects in writing and engaging in fun, interactive activities.
Students study and enhance their knowledge base while having fun with peers and family members. They need writing tools to design and create writing projects in class and take home writing supplies to engage family in fun, learning activities.
My Project
With your support, I will be able to provide a writing center where my students can create and design a variety of writing activities. I want my students to be jazzed about writing by setting up a classroom writing center, but also with the pandemic, students will be able to have a take home bag of writing tools to continue their writing at home. Students love to type their writing and the printer will be a handy tool for printing their special creations.
The students at my school are inquisitive, creative, and compassionate.
They come to school each day ready to try new things and grow both academically . The students and I appreciate your support!
