Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As the 11th grade teacher, I look forward to preparing my kids for college. A large majority of my kids are low level readers, and most have a hard time putting ideas into writing. We spend a lot of time practicing good writing habits. They need help with all types of writing, not regents based.

My students lack the ability to form a thesis statement then support the statement with relevant evidence.

My school has made a commitment to focus on collecting data that supports student learning in the classroom. I know having the projector along with the screen will allow me to offer my kids the service they need to succeed. My classroom was originally built as a Science classroom so I will need a portable screen. I look forward to using the projector to write the exemplar paper on the screen and have students use the rubric to examine the components.

My Project

My Project: Time is of the essence in all our classrooms. It is imperative that I use my time with students wisely, and I am certain that having access to the projector will increase my scores and help my students reach their individual goals. Not only will they be able to follow along with me, but they will be able to teach each other when applicable. We have created teams of facilitators and recorders who work together to review homework and classwork. It will be wonderful to observe my students teach each other using the projector. It will not only prepare them with the much presentations skills needed in high school but college and beyond. I am excited at the endless possibilities this technology will bring to our educational journey. Along with academic uses for this, my Drama class can benefit because the projector as well because they will be able to use the projector to view their productions as well as share their creative writing pieces.

My students need a projector so I may guide them as they write and revise their essays because we have written several ELA regents practice essays, and example is key.

As an educator I have developed formulas that my students could follow and easily achieve the desired goal. Having access to this project will open door for me to be able to revise essay in way that every can benefit. I can assure you that my students will become better writers with this composing and revision process tool.
