Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I currently teach a wonderful group of 2nd graders in Forsyth County, NC. These students are extremely eager to work and eager to please. We currently have several Literacy Centers established in our classroom. Two items we are in serious need of are Student White Boards and Clipboards. These will be very helpful when the students are trying to plan, write, and edit stories. It would be beneficial to use the boards in case of error. If a mistake is made, it would be easier to erase and continue working. The clipboards are needed to use when students want or need to work in areas of the room where a table or desk isn't available. Some enjoy and seem to do a better job at finding a spot on the floor or in a corner of the room. Therefore a clipboard would allow flexibility in choosing a work area. We would appreciate a donation of 25 white boards and 13 clipboards for our Writing and Literacy Centers. We feel this will truly enhance or Writing Program.
