My students need a marker-board table and chairs so that as we meet together as groups we have a place with child size chairs that we can do word work, read, and collaborate!
I work with individuals and small groups of struggling readers and writers each day. These students make a large amount of growth by getting to have daily small group lessons that are created just for them and their needs. These groups are flexible and based on student need. As soon as they are no longer in need of my help they filter out and new students get to join me.
In our classroom we celebrate all successes no matter the size and make sure that reading is enjoyable rather than a chore.
It is important that students not only see the purpose for reading but that they also are enjoying themselves so that they may become lifelong learners.
My Project
This table and chair combo will do wonders for small group collaboration! Not only will the students be able to speak with one another in the group easily due to the table shape and size, but they will also be able to have access to whiteboards easily without time being taken away from learning to gather those supplies and put them away.
Write On!
My students enjoy having different surfaces to write on. They will LOVE having permission to write on the table! We greatly appreciate all donor support and can't wait for our project to be funded so that we can start the school year with our new table and chairs!
