Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students enjoy learning new ideas and concepts everyday at school. They work really hard and do their best. We are a Title I school and each student receives a free breakfast and lunch.
My fourth graders are eager learners.
Despite many hardships, they have a good work ethic. Many of my students come from low-income homes. I give them every opportunity at school to learn and grow as a student by giving them a positive learning environment. They try very hard to reach their learning goals.
My Project
My students need white boards, markers, and erasers. I would also need two bins to store these materials.
The white boards are a tool to help students review concepts such as language arts, writing, grammar, math, science, art, and health.
Instead of wasting paper to review a concept, students can use a white board as a review. For example, I can give them a set of math problems and they can work on them on the white board. If they need more practice, I can give them more math problems by having them write and erase them without using paper.
When students are working on their white boards, this will also help me see their answers and I'll be able to give them immediate feedback whether be a math problem, an electrical current diagram, or spelling words. Not only students are learning continuously, but we are also helping the environment.
I've noticed that students become more engaged in their learning while using a white board. This is a different way to use a tool other than paper and pencil. The white boards are versatile. This will help my students be more focused and help them stay on task.
