My Students

Our small school, comprised of about 250 students, is located in the heart of the city of Seattle. Though our backgrounds are diverse, our love of learning unites us!

Each day we come together in the classroom to develop a positive learning community as we strive to be our best selves and to recognize that we all have important contributions to make.

We thrive in math when we have opportunities to work on enriching activities that take us beyond a text book!

My Project

Having a large white board for me to use when instructing students and for students to use when sharing their ideas with each other will make a huge difference in our classroom! We do not have a projector, smart board, white board or anything to magnify student work. We often write on the tables with dry erase pen when seeking a larger surface and though I purchased a "white board sticker" for the wall, it has become badly stained and could not withstand the heavy use. A large magnetic white board on the wall would be incredible! I encourage my students to use multiple methods when thinking about and solving problems. Showing student work and seeing several different ways that arrive at the same solution is very powerful in student learning! Thank you for your consideration!
