Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school every day ready to learn and be challenged! They love to write everyday! They have become great writers and are eager to share their work! My goal is to introduce them to as many genres of writing that I can.

My school is a Title I school with students receiving free breakfast and after school daycare.

My class consists of ELD and SEL students who need extra help to access the curriculum. Although my students require extra help, they come to school every day ready to learn!

My Project

The singing machine and soft blank books will motivate my students to be the best writers they can be in first grade. My students will do an end of the year writing assignment that will showcase their growth in writing in different genre areas. My students will create a narrative, two information pieces and an opinion writing piece to show the writing skills they have acquired this year in first grade.

After my students have written their pieces they will then present their writing to the class using the singing machine.

The singing machine will boost my kids confidence when reading their writing.
