Help me give my students materials to provide engaging learning that we will use everyday to develop different skills, like: Writing, Spelling, Math, Drawing, Social skills, etc.
These are amazing 2nd Grade Dual Immersion Spanish students. They are able to learn even the hardest Math content in a different language; in this case, Spanish.
They strive to daily to improve their foreign language and math skills as well as work diligently to progress at their own pace.
They are the most hard workers, respectful and kind students I've ever had. Their wiliness to help others make their hart bigger every day, developing emotional and social skills that will help them to success in life.
This is my 7th year as a dual immersion teacher, and ever year these kids teach me how became a better teacher.
My Project
Working at a whiteboards engages multiples senses as well as more learning styles.
Using whiteboards in our classrooms help to visualize thoughts, concepts, write down ideas, explain and teach, plan and create in the group and many other things.
Also, doing learning activities on a vertical surface also helps student develop spatial and body awareness.
As a teacher, getting and holding students' attention requires engaging not only their brains during the learning process, also their bodies. Whiteboard work does that. Movement allows students to refocus and strengthen their ability to pay attention.
Also, children development researchers have found that working on large vertical surfaces help students develop physical dexterity and control.
Finally I would like to add another benefit of having whiteboards in the classroom, and it's that displaying that information and ideas on a whiteboards helps create shared group knowledge, too.
Please, help me to keep developing all these vital skills in my students during my classrooms.
