Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school has almost 800 students from preschool through 8th grade. My classroom is learning remotely this school year, and students are in need of basic supplies! I am looking for ways to capture the interest of young children remotely by providing them with enough materials for them to participate as they continue their learning safely at home.
My Project
Young children have their own levels of writing in preschool, but they just need the materials to continue to develop their learning. Paper without lines at this age ensures that children are able to work on their pre-writing skills without the pressure to write or draw at a level they may not be well-prepared for yet. It is essential for students to develop at their own pace, and with the appropriate materials.
Whether it looks like scribbles, zig-zag lines, or a variety of shapes, curves, and lines, each drawing and writing piece in preschool is meaningful; each piece has a great story behind it!
Because students are learning remotely, I would like for students to still have the ability to choose their own writing materials. Help me provide my students with the necessary items they need to continue to expand their creativity in writing and drawing with a variety of paper to choose from as they learn remotely in their homes.
