Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 6th Graders are a very high energized group who include ESL, Special Ed. And GT. The ESL students range in abilities of speaking, reading and writing. My students need lots of visuals to help them with the lessons. Modeling is very important in helping them learn expectations. Some of my students need lots of attention and others are able to move forward by themselves. My classes need differentiated learning activities that cater to the kinetic and visual learner. I would like to develop a reward system to create motivation for great work and good behavior.

My Project

The students will be writing up to the end of the year with pencils, markers, pens and colored paper. They will write for a purpose, either to each other, to family, or to other friends about subjects we learn about. I thought it would be fun to use colored paper for writing warm-ups or exit tickets, where they answer questions about that days lesson. I think that will change up the regular boring way we always write. The posters and borders will also some pizazz to our boring classroom they have seen since September. I hope we are considered for this material to make us happy and enthusiastic about writing. Thank you for the opportunity to be considered for this reward. With much appreciation, Sandy N.
