My classroom is a fun and energetic place full of students ready to move into 3rd grade. This year, I am so excited to welcome my students back into the classroom. We are into our 6th year as a project-based environment, where the students guide their own learning and reach their own goals. When my students enter my classroom they are in a safe learning environment where mistakes are okay. Whenever we learn something new, I tell them: "Try your best; if you make a mistake, we will fix it together."
My students are hard-working and enjoy working through the daily tasks that are handed to them.
Many of them face difficult home lives so my classroom is made to be a safe and friendly learning community.
My Project
My students need journals and cursive writing practice for at home writing. I would like my students to have a tool to use when they need to write something at home. I want this to be there own personal tool. I want to provide them with a journal and a pen so writing is always accessible to them.
My students need to know they can write whenever they want.
As a teacher I want my students to continue practicing their writing while also practicing their cursive too. In 3rd grade it is important to start teaching them how to write in more then just print. My goal for my students is that they just love writing and most start using cursive because it is fun.
