Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my 8th grade ELA classroom have struggled their entire educational experience with materials, texts, basic classroom supplies, and a welcoming classroom environment that can meet their needs at ease.
Their classrooms are stark and limited in enriching visuals to stimulate their thinking.
These students are humble and appreciative of the smallest of gifts. When they enter my room, I want them to feel safe and confident that there are no resources needed to achieve that has to be provided from home.
My Project
It's time to put the pedal to the metal, or in this case, the pencil to the paper, or the pen to the pad.
With the second quarter of the year about to begin, we want our students to consider this a fresh start.
What better way than to have new utensils to break in with their hard work.
These students come to us with such a desire to learn yet nothing to help them on the way! There's nothing like the sharpness of a new pencil or the smell of a fresh marker to break in a new piece of work.
