Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school that serves a wide variety of students. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and have a unique range of skills. Many of our students depend on athletics to help guide them through making and achieving goals. One program that is stellar in this area is our Wrestling program. We have approximately 30 boys and girls on our team, and, in the past, we have had many state champions and have won many state championships. This program mentors our students for great success!
My Project
Although I'm not a mother in real life, I have been adopted as the Wrestling Team Mom! For years I have been helping my boys (and girls!) throughout the season by attending almost all of their meets and tournaments. When I show up I've got snacks for them, as many of them have to cut weight to be able to wrestle, so they're in need of a pick-me-up! I always keep healthy snacks on hand for them during school hours as well. This year I'm asking for your support in this endeavor. Please help me help our team stay healthy on their way to the State Championships!
