My students need 30 keyboard skins in order for them to improve their keyboarding skills.
As the computer lab teacher, students are in and out of my classroom all day. Many students have commented on "how fast I type" or "how do you do that" when I am doing something on the computer near them. With the push to online testing, I feel students need to be able to do this as well.
Our schools houses pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.
They come from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. As the technology teacher at the school, I see the need for the students to learn basic keyboarding skills in order to succeed both at school and in the future. Students have begun taking more tests online (both in the classroom and at the state level) and need these skills in order to complete the tests in a timely manner as well as perform successfully on them.
My students need 30 keyboard skins in order for them to improve their keyboarding skills. Students will use the material in order to practice keyboarding skills. There are several free sites online that offer typing programs for students. Students will use these sites along with the keyboard covers to build on and improve their keyboarding skills.
This project will make a difference by building students self-esteem when using the keyboard and computer.
Students will feel that they can type answers to questions and papers quickly and successfully.
