Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am lucky enough to provide Occupational Therapy services to children from preschool through high school with varying developmental and cognitive skill levels. I am working towards finding the tools to help them succeed in reaching their Occupational Therapy goals as we continue to navigate what OT looks like during a pandemic! We are looking to purchase items, materials, and tools to help give each child their own safe space and supplies to continue working hard toward their OT goals!
Many of our incredible kiddos face challenges everyday and it's my job to do everything I can help them reach their goals, in spite of the added challenges of being at school in these current times.
This is an unprecedented time and all I can hope for is to provide my students with whatever I can to keep helping them be successful in this ever changing environment. They deserve it!
My Project
These materials and supplies will be incredibly helpful to us this year in OT! Having the necessary items to make our OT space safe and functional is the key element to having a successful year together!
My hope for the students is to find a way to continue to make OT exciting and fun in order to help them achieve their goals, while ensuring safety above all else.
Giving alternative seating options, and a variety of fine motor activities allows for space to play and explore as well as encouraging growing skills!
