My students need tables that give them plenty of room to work.

My students are all second and third graders in a neighborhood that struggles economically. About 100 percent of our students qualify for free lunches and breakfast. That, however, does not diminish their excitement for learning, especially if you incorporate things they like doing.
They are smart and very capable students with a true love of learning through real experiences.
The economic challenges do, however, have an impact on what they have available to help them learn. These are changing times, and we have to constantly look for ways to not only keep students engaged but also build their skills to prepare for potential future careers. We know that the future will require critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but it also requires a stronger background and understanding of science and technology, and my students love the hands-on learning.
The current Science Lab tables just aren't big enough. This table is 48 inches square. That gives them 16 square feet of surface area instead of the current 9 square feet of surface area to work on safely. We could continue to work on the floor, but then someone might step on or trip over the computers and other materials.
Getting this table will ensure that their projects won't get damaged or destroyed simply by people walking across the room.
They will be able to take pride in their projects as they are developed and not have to worry about where people walk.
