My third grade students live in a rural community, where the entire elementary population is free lunch. Our school consists of self-contained, open classrooms. The students come from diverse backgrounds with a strong desire to learn and be challenged in new and exciting ways! They seize opportunities, and are excited by new perspectives and additions to our classroom. Classroom instruction includes highly engaging, hands-on activities to keep students focused and motivated. My students are in need of opportunities to build a strong educational foundation that will benefit them their entire lives.
My Project
This dry erase table will provide endless opportunities for my students! Mastering third grade math skills can be quite challenging, but by adding this to our classroom, we will have motivating (FUN) practice for small groups.
Students learn the most when they are having fun!
As a teacher, I will be able to visually assess the work of multiple students and provide additional support for errors. Students can also learn from each other using this resource, by observing the work of others. This table is excellent for partner work. It also provides an opportunity to verbally express their thought processes to small groups using their own work, and explain it to the class to help their peers. This dry erase table will provide my students hands-on learning in all aspects of the math curriculum.
