My students are intelligent and interested little humans. They are a diverse group, bringing to our class the many gifts of their unique family, cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Being 4 and 5 years old, they like to learn through play and experimentation. They enjoy hands-on activities that enable them to create their own meaning.
Our classroom is dynamic, adapting to the needs of the group and task.
We engage in many messy art and science experiences. We love to read, listen to, and create stories. We sing and we dance. We love to count and explore number sense. We like to take fun seriously and have fun doing serious learning.
The large loom will help students to work together to create a group project. When using this, they will be practicing their social skills in order to cooperate on their vision and actually do the work of weaving. It will be wonderful for students to have a final group product to hang in the classroom.
The small, assorted size looms will let students engage their creativity and artistic vision in order to create individual art pieces.
Students will be able to take their art home to share with their families! The assorted yarn will spark imagination and encourage choice. Students will be inspired to use it to create their unique vision.
