Would Love a Laptop
Help me give my students a laptop to do daily tasks to help their progression through the standards.
My students come to me for intervention in the areas of reading, writing, and math with varied needs and need of different levels of support to learn in nontraditional ways. I want them to know I believe in them and I respect their individual needs. I will try and meet their needs to the best of my abilities. I know sometimes little things can make a big difference which might help them achieve anything they want.
I teach at a Title I school in California where around 50 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My classroom has a limited amount of laptops for my students to use. I would like to get a MacBook Air to help my students increase not only their knowledge about technology but to also practice their skills each day. They will use this laptop for individual tasks, group tasks, and working with me too. I can't tell you how much this laptop is needed in our room to work on AR tests, MobyMax, reading programs, writing, etc. I can see this laptop being used multiple times throughout the day. I know it'll help my students understand more of the curriculum that I'm teaching each day. I appreciate your consideration to help get this resource into my room.
