I always like to tell my students that in our classroom they are part of a family. We all bring different things to the table. Some of us are more quiet, where others are loud and outgoing. Some students love sports and learning history and war, where others love math, or science, or reading science fiction novels.
All of our interests are different, but we still find common ground and have similarities.
Our classroom is composed of students from many different socio economic backgrounds. The students upbringings, family traditions, and different cultural backgrounds help to make our classroom a unique place to learn and grow together! We are all able to contribute to make our classroom the best learning environment it can be!
My Project
Help me give my students books to read about the important people and events of World War 2. I have chosen a variety of books for students to be able to choose from when we learn about WWII. Students will be able to choose from picture books about important people like Anne Frank or read a historical fiction book about the holocaust and what people went through.
As a reading teacher, as well as a social studies teacher, I believe it is my job to help make history come alive through reading!
These books that I have chosen will help do just that!
