My Students
My students are hardworking, independent young beings. They have an overwhelming spark of creativity and sense of adventure. They face challenges head on and love learning about technology and how it can be a challenge, yet help solve a challenge at the same time.
My students love technology, and by that I mean anything they can do with technology.
They love social media of all sorts and have been working on getting our class twitter and Instagram accounts up to date. They have had a little time exploring coding. A lot of them have made power point presentations to go with their genius hour projects. Technology! Technology! Technology!
My Project
We are part of a very small school, in a rural area. It is very difficult to find educational field trip opportunities that don't require a long bus ride. With the Google Expeditions Kit, my students will have the ability to go on wonderful learning experiences without having to leave the comforts of the classroom.
No tricky permission slips to have returned, you know there is always one or two that forget theirs!
Just imagine as we discuss Ancient Mesopotamia, with this kit we would have the ability to travel to virtually to the Persian Gulf. To be able to explore the fertile crescent of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers first hand without leaving the room. What a world of possibilities this Kit will create.
