Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a middle school teacher of English Language Arts and Social Sciences. I teach students in grades 6-8. My students come from all walks of life with many different experiences. 30% of our student population is on free/reduced-price lunch. 20% of our population require special accommodations in order to meet their learning needs.
They are all hungry to learn.
They are very inquisitive and take on the challenges provided to them. These students are hard working and will be successful. They want and will do the impossible!
My Project
I instill in my students to be critical independent thinkers and active citizens of their community. This is done by providing ample opportunities to learn about what is happening locally and globally.
The iPads would help them to have access to the world in the palm of their hands.
They would be able to reach out and see what others are doing locally and globally. Becoming knowledgeable of the things that are occurring locally, nationally, and globally will help them become more well rounded in all aspects of their life.
When students are engaged and knowledgeable this leads to a more promising future. I want to assure that my students all have the best opportunities that life has to offer them. For this to be the case, I need to prepare them.
