World Citizens Celebrating All Languages & Cultures

Help me give my students an amazing multicultural library with more bilingual books to read. In addition to an incredible celebration for their hard work on the OELPA (Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment).

My Project

My intermediate ESL students are phenomenal! They are passionate about learning and I truly love being their ESL teacher. Watching my students acquire new vocabulary and become confident speaking in English is so exciting. We learn so much together. My ESL students love to share about their cultures and teach me words in their Native languages. I love that I am able to provide interactive lessons that make students feel empowered. Celebrating diversity is key! I am grateful that I am helping create agents of change who will make the world a better place for all world citizens.

This project will add amazing bilingual books to our library.

This is another way to support ESL students and celebrate their languages and cultures. I want students to see themselves in the books that are displayed in class. I want to read and have meaningful discussions using these powerful multicultural books. I am aware of how important positive representation is for all students.

All of my intermediate ESL students are required to take the OELPA Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment. It tests their knowledge of English in the following domains reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This is an extremely challenging assessment, especially for students new to the country. When all students have completed the OELPA I want to celebrate their hard work.
