My Students

Our school is a beloved landmark of the community, being established in 1959. Our school has a high enough population of students that get free or reduced price lunch to qualify as a Title I school, but the school district has too many Title I schools, so we don't get the official designation and accompanying funding.

Our students are hardworking and kind.

Many of our students are farm kids, as our school boundaries include 3 smaller farm towns. They hold the door open when teachers walk into school. They help each other. They're good kids.

My Project

My fifth graders need to move around. These materials will allow us to do our work in different places. Clipboards will allow them to have a hard surface for writing while they are on the carpet or on the go. Whiteboard erasers will stop them from using their hands as erasers while they are each working out problems for themselves.

Chair bands will help students get wiggles out while they're at their desk.

While I always have a few students with ADD or ADHD, all of my students appreciate movement. I'd like to provide them with one more way to move throughout the day.
