My first graders come from various backgrounds but all with a love of learning.
Our school supports all families in need and we stress the importance of reading, writing and mathematics on a daily basis.
Our first grade curriculum currently exposes parents & children to various forms of literature through the use of mentor text as well as guided reading books. We also use various manipulatives to support all types of learners in many subject areas.
Our classroom follows a workshop model on a daily basis which involves students independently reading, working in partnerships or working in small groups with the teacher.
My Project
My students learning is always changing and with the use of various tools for our classroom I want to enable the students to strive to be the BEST that they can in a 21st century learning environment. Many students come from different backgrounds with different learning modalities. With the use of flexible seating, dry erase pockets and a microphone students will be able to express their individuality while also excelling in their learning. Students enjoy being creative and through the use of these tools in our classroom I hope to instill their love of learning. Students will be able to simply focus on their learning at all times.
