My students need additional support through the use of workshop activities. At the present, our classroom has a very limited amount of hands-on games and activities for the children to use.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Presently, I am teaching First-grade in an inner-city school comprised of mostly ESL students. My students are high needs students because they do not get help at home with learning English. As emergent readers, they need a lot of extra help at school with vocabulary, sight words, and practicing to speak English.
Our school district has been hard hit by our falling economy. We do not have any room in the budget to purchase any additional learning materials to supplement the curriculum.
With the use of hands-on activities and games, the students will be able to learn more by building reading vocabulary word skills and practicing the English language. Many of these children do not have games and puzzles at home. This will be a real treat to them!
By your generosity, my students will be given the opportunity to learn in a fun setting, while building much needed academic skills. Without your help, the students will not have the opportunity of having games and puzzles in a workshop setting. By getting these games and activities, the students will be so excited that it will be a jump start to their learning!
