This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Dr. Seuss once said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
Look here for a class that will truly appreciate what you have to offer.
My classroom consists of 25 third grade students. Although they come from extremely caring homes, our community is of high-need and therefore unable to provide many of the opportunities and supplies that other kids have.
It is my goal to provide the very best for my students. School is our "home away from home". They deserve the best and appreciate everything that we have in the classroom.
My Project
Every day, my students work on a math activity related to the lesson taught. Our materials from our last project are GREAT, but I am always looking for ways to engage my students EVEN MORE, and in order to provide a more engaging and lasting math and reading education, our class is asking for more supplies, such as: Power Pens, math puzzles, and hands-on leveled activities. Any teacher can pass out a worksheet or a test, but what are the students really gaining? These games and activities will provide a way for students to practice (and teachers assess) the essential skills of third grade math and reading, all while maintaining high student involvement.
Your help in this project will provide a more meaningful and enjoyable learning experience for our students.
It is our hope that with EVEN MORE hands-on activities like Power Pens, Leveled Math "Quickies", and math focused puzzles, students will leave school at the end of the day eager for the next day to begin!
