My Students

My 2nd grade students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and neighborhoods. We are a Title I school, which allows students to get free/reduced breakfast and lunch, due to low socioeconomic status.

Our students pledge every morning to be safe, be kind, be respectful, and to be responsible.

Teachers set high expectations and believe in the students. Students here realize they can reach any goal they set for themselves. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with these students daily!

My Project

Students will use the requested lapboards, flash cards, and stampers to practice spelling words and sight words, and work at their developmental spelling level. Students currently use paper and pencil to complete some of their word work activities. I want to make this time more interactive!

Today, students need to be engaged in their learning so that they maintain interested.

I want to engage my students through hands-on, interactive learning opportunities. Students will use these supplies to enhance their learning! I know my students will enjoy activities such as making their words with playdough and stamps, and building their words with lace and beads!
