Help me give my students materials that will help them maintain and increase language, vocabulary and independent reading skills needed to be successful in their grade level.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are doing their best to stay connected to us during this pandemic. They are attending online sessions daily, participating in online discussions and submitting assignments in their online portal.
Many of the students are unable to complete assignments online due to lack of connectivity, not having the correct programs on devices, and/or lacking the technological skills it takes to complete online work.
Students are learning from their teachers in these virtual lessons and continue to participate in reading programs that increase fluency. While all of our assignments have been made online and in digital form it is important for our students to also have consumables that allow them to practice printing, solving and expressing their understanding. It is important to give students opportunities to learn that are not all technology related.
My Project
These materials will be given to each student based on their specific learning needs. Students that are beginning the school year with difficulties in reading and language will be provide the opportunities to practice language and fluency skills to help them become more successful learners.
We want all students to maintain the learning they have already received while pushing them on to the next level.
These materials will go a long way in creating routine practice in learners. Students will be able to track their own progress throughout the learning process using these booklets which will hopefully encourage them to keep trying to increase their vocabulary and language skills thus increasing their fluency skills as well.
