Working Wiggle Worms
My students need Hokki Stools as an alternative seating option! Alternative seating will provide students with a way to be active and attentive at the same time.
"It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become." -Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
My students are an incredible group of high achieving second graders.
I have 25 students who are anxiously waiting to begin a new year. They are stellar students who love to learn. Second grade is so much fun as students begin to truly explore and take hold of their own learning. Our school is based on Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. Our students are encouraged to find how they learn best, and how they can show what they know. It's not how smart you are, it's how you are smart!
Second grade students must be actively engaged in learning. Physical movement helps students stay focused. Our day is broken up well into different learning segments. However, as in every classroom, there are times in our day when students must be seated to complete assignments. The challenge is to help them stay actively engaged in instruction, while being seated.
Hokki Stools provide students with an active way to be complete work at their seats.
With a Hokki Stool a child who struggles to stay focused will be more successful during seated times. The child who seems to always have the wiggles will have the opportunity to move and complete seat work with a Hokki Stool.
