Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students attend an inner-city public school where approximately 90% live below the poverty line. We spend a lot of time doing hands-on learning.

All of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch and participate in the backpack program on the weekends.

This does not stop our students from coming to school and showing their love for learning. We love to explore everything around us, both inside and outside of the classroom. We love to show what we know and learn in a hands-on way.

My Project

These materials will make a very large difference in our classroom. We want to work in small groups when my students are in the classroom. To do this we need to have a barrier or stay six feet apart.

The sneeze guards will allow students to work next to each other without spreading germs.

I can use my semi-circle table and put up the sneeze guards to have three or four students sit at the table without spreading germs.

The ball chair will help me sit with the children without constantly having back pain. I am used to sitting on the floor or at a table with my students and now we have to be at a desk. This would be so helpful.
