Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 30 enthusiastic fourth graders, which include special education, magnet students, English language learners, and intervention students. These students are eager to learn new things every day.
Even though my students live in a community where they endure socioeconomic hardships, they come to school every day eager and ready to learn.
They attend a school in California which resides in a low income neighborhood. Their school provides regular education and gifted/magnet education. However, my students attend the regular education so they do not have access to all the materials and enrichment that the magnet students have.
My Project
My students plan to use the Fitbits, stopwatches and notebooks to track their fitness goals. My students were very excited to come up with this idea. Their excitement will allow them to become better students in the classroom.
The Fitbits will also allow them to keep track of each others' fitness goals and keep each other accountable.
They will be able to use the notebooks to track their goals over a longer period of time so they can see the drastic improvement in their health and fitness. This will allow them to perform better in the classroom as well as on the yard.
