Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a special place because it is one of the most diverse schools in our district. Our school mission revolves around accepting diversity. We have used sports to connect our students and have committed to being a healthy campus. In the past year, we have been challenged as a school and community, due to COVID 19, and now these students face more challenges due to the recent Delta variant. Located in West Houston, we have been able to create a proactive P.E. program despite a lack of equipment. Now more than ever, since the fourth wave of Covid, we need to continue to intrigue our student's involvement through sports!
Providing and finding unique ways to create success and targeting the roots of knowledge during the pandemic, and recent disaster is the goal for these low-income children!
Working to introduce sports that many of these poverty-living students have never experienced, the right resources, and learning materials are paramount to the success of new experiences! Through these times where teachers can only show hope till leadership gets better. We need the community's help to give these children the opportunity to experience lifetime knowledge that truly saves lives!
My Project
Understanding the importance of exercise and sports to our underprivileged population is critical in providing students with quality learning platforms. These platforms, pinnacle to creating the perfect learning environments, need the resources directed towards the subject being learned! Due to the low quality and quantity of equipment we wanted to come up with a project to provide these necessities to these low income students. Providing these vital interest points will help keep the students interested, and also allow the students to have a sense of pride! The new equipment will put so many smiles on the faces of kids that rely on the outlet of exercise as their getaway from daily life!
