I teach third grade in a suburb of Houston, Texas where many homes were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Our school was thankfully spared, but many of my students experienced what evacuating their home was like.
I am fortunate to inspire third graders to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine each day.
Our school is very culturally diverse, bringing many different backgrounds, traditions, languages, and cultures to share with one another.
Since our school is so diverse, it is my goal to help provide unique and memorable learning experiences every day. After teaching for 15 years, I have learned from other educators and enjoy bringing innovative programs and ideas to my classroom and school.
My Project
Throughout the school week, there are activities that students must complete independently. My classroom is not big enough for everyone to spread out and feel like they can work independently, so they need privacy screens to give them their own space to work without the distraction of the person sitting near them.
Privacy screens will allow for my students to take an assessment, quiz or just work privately without the distractions of others near them.
Students will be able to sit on the floor, at a table or a desk and take their privacy screen with them. These screens will create a more focused setting for students to show what they know through their independent work.
