My Students

This year, I am going into my fifth year of teaching. I am moving back to 4th grade after being in 3rd grade for the last two years. My students learn in a Title I school near a military base. Many of our students have experienced some type of family transition (single-parent home, blended family, divorce/separation, low income, etc.).

No child should feel held back from learning because they don't have the necessary materials in the classroom.

I want to see every one of my students succeed in and out of the classroom. With the proper materials, I am positive it will make a major, positive impact in my classroom!

My Project

This year my students will be taking part in a year-long financial literacy unit. Students will earn hole punches that equal a dollar value. With these hole punches, they will earn their digital money, keep track of their income and debts, and set goals. This will follow teaching students financial literacy and their ability to count money, budget, save, follow class expectations, etc.

There are different levels at which the students will go to the classroom store and use the tickets they have earned to purchase items.

The classroom store is in need of items such as a variety of fidget toys, keychains, building materials, etc. Throughout the year, I will be teaching lessons on financial literacy skills that will be beneficial throughout their lives. Please support our financial literacy unit.
