I serve twenty-seven kindergarten students who live in the heart of the mountains of Kentucky. They are bright, energetic, and very eager learners. They are at a critical time in their lives, the beginning stages of reading, math, and developing socially. I strive to make learning fun and engaging for all of my students. It is such a joy to watch as they gain new skills. Since kindergarten is the springboard for knowledge, I want to ensure that my students will be prepared for the future.
My students need dry erase boards, markers, erasers and cleaner to have a successful year. All of these materials will be used to practice reading and math concepts as well as science and social studies concepts. They will be used to practice letter recognition and writing, spelling words, addition and subtraction facts, and many other concepts. The erasers and cleaner will be used to clean up their whiteboards once they are finished practicing. The magnetic properties of the whiteboards and erasers will allow my students to keep these materials in their desks so that they are not lost. We also need brown paper bags to make crafts that reflect what we are learning.
